Parents as Life Coach: Education is not just about the science and the mathematics. An educated man is a man who is knowledgeable, has a good taste and displays culture; the refined ways of his upbringing are shown in his conduct. For parents, ensuring that your child excels in his curriculum is not enough. You have to be his very own 'Life Coach'. A life coach is person whose job is to improve the quality of his or her client's life, by offering advice on professional and personal matters, such as career, health, personal relationships, etc. But when a child has his life coaches always at his disposal during his/her growing years, he would never be in dire need of any help in his own matters. Such a child grows to be a self-contained child. Parents can accomplish this by incorporating 'Life Skills' in their child.
Inculcate Strong Morals in Your Child: It is important for parents to infuse strong moral and ethical instincts in their child. A child who grows up to be very rich and intelligent but is not honest or is a thief, is a complete failure. Moral education is something you should not overlook as a parent. If your child steals, punish him, but also make him understand that this is wrong. Similarly, reward him well when he does something good. Train your child to distinguish between right and wrong. Always remember that a child learns by actions. So, you should lead by actions, too. Help the needy, respect your elders and never shout. Speak softly, don't hate(at least not loudly), never swear. If you smoke or drink, at least make sure, you don't do it in front of your children. Create a peaceful atmosphere at home, because this is what will make your child a sound man/woman. Never impose your decisions on your child, always encourage him to be honest in life. Last but not the least, instill faith in your child.
Remember, Health First: : Even though it seems out of place, but for a parent, a child's health should be a priority. You can never give a better lesson to your child than to care for his health. So, educate your child, but with a tagline that "Health is Wealth". Happy Educating, Happy Parenting!
